The IKS division of MoE is embarking upon the Gyānagoshā initiative to produce factually correct, high-quality videos depicting the various ideas and techniques of Bhāratiya Gyān Paramparā. These videos would serve as the gold standard pedagogical material to be disseminated to various educational institutions throughout Bharat. In the first phase of the project, 100 such videos will be produced in each of the multiple subdisciplines such as Indian mathematics, Rasashāstra, Vaastushāstra, Krishishāstra, Arthashāstra and so on.
As a pilot, we hereby announce a national competition to produce 2 videos of maximum 6 minutes, one each in the fields of Krishishāstra and Indian mathematics. These videos must cover a specific topic in these fields. The videos are expected to be of the quality of popular pedagogical YouTube channels such as 3brown1blue, Numberphile etc. The videos for the pilot competition shall be in English / Hindi with closed captions in both these languages.
The videos would be judged on the following criteria: 25% clarity of presentation, 25% video quality (animation, etc), 25% accuracy of the message and 25% creativity. Only entries that are factually correct (supported by appropriate primary and secondary references) and demonstrate professional-grade production will be considered for evaluation.
